What we receive and why we use it
Contact and project information
When you contact us, we receive the details you provide, such as your name, work email, company, country, job role and project requirements. Drawings, models, schematics, material details, quantities and valve references may also contain personal or confidential business information.
We use this information to respond, clarify technical requirements, prepare quotations, coordinate samples or orders, and keep relevant correspondence and project records. The website enquiry form requires a name, valid email and project description so we can respond; additional business and technical fields are optional. Choosing not to provide necessary project details may limit the review or quotation we can offer.
Enquiry records and security
The website records the enquiry reference, submission time, source page and your acknowledgement of the enquiry-information notice. Authorized staff may record follow-up notes, project status and the next action. Anti-abuse controls use a temporary identifier derived from the submitting IP address; hosting and security services may also process access and error logs.
The basis for these uses
Where applicable data protection law requires a lawful basis, our legitimate interests are responding to business enquiries, managing customer relationships and protecting the website. If you contract with us personally, necessary processing may also support steps you request before a contract and performance of that contract. We retain records required by applicable legal obligations. Optional analytics and advertising measurement are based on your consent.
Submitting an enquiry does not subscribe you to a newsletter. Project follow-up is handled by people; the enquiry system does not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who can access information and where it is handled
Project information is available to authorized personnel who need it to review, quote, manufacture or support your project. Website administrators can access saved enquiries and attachments. Hosting, email, backup and technical-support providers may process information needed to operate these services.
Where a project requires an external process or test, such as surface treatment or laboratory inspection, relevant project details may need to be provided to that service provider within the agreed project and confidentiality scope. Please identify restrictions before sending files.
Website attachments are stored separately from public website media and require an authorized administrator to download them. Please contact us about an NDA before sharing restricted designs. Send only the information needed for the review and only files you are authorized to share.
Our enquiry team processes information in China. Service providers may process it in other countries according to their service arrangements. Contact us for details of the processing locations and any applicable transfer safeguards for your enquiry.
If you choose email, WhatsApp, a social-network link or the Google Maps address-search link, the relevant provider also handles information under its own terms and privacy notice. These links open an external service; they are separate from the website enquiry form.
Analytics, search tools and your cookie choices
Optional Google Analytics and Microsoft Advertising UET load only after you accept measurement. You can change your choice through Privacy choices.
When Google Analytics is enabled and you accept optional analytics, it helps us understand visits and interactions with this website. We measure page views, email-link clicks, WhatsApp-link clicks and successful website enquiry submissions. Link clicks indicate interest; they do not establish that a message was sent or a qualified enquiry was received.
Our configured analytics events do not include your name, email address, telephone number, enquiry message, enquiry reference, drawing names or file contents. This integration sends the public page address without query strings or fragments, and only the originating website address for an external referrer. Google processes technical information such as browser and device details, online identifiers and network information when its service is used.
Analytics is optional. You can accept or reject it and change your choice using “Privacy choices” at the bottom of the page when analytics is available. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from reading the website or sending an enquiry. The consent choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days; analytics cookies created by our integration are configured for up to 180 days and may renew with use. Browser settings can also clear cookies and site storage.
Essential functions may use browser storage for your privacy choice, and WordPress uses cookies for administrator sign-in. The enquiry anti-abuse counter expires after one hour without a further accepted submission. Its expiry does not delete the associated enquiry.
Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools are used for site verification and search-performance information once connected. Their verification tags do not install visitor analytics cookies. Microsoft Advertising UET is available only after you accept optional measurement. Session recordings and social-media advertising pixels are not enabled by this integration.

How long we keep information
We do not apply a single fixed retention period to all enquiries. We review records according to the project’s status, recent correspondence, the need to complete a quotation or follow-up, and any ongoing customer relationship. Information that is no longer needed is identified for deletion or anonymization through this review.
For orders and completed projects, retention also takes account of contractual requirements, traceability, quality records, accounting obligations and the need to establish or respond to claims. Copies in email, working records and backups may have different retention cycles and need to be considered when handling a deletion request.
This is a managed review process, not an automatic deletion timer. You can ask us whether we still hold information about your enquiry and request deletion where applicable.
Analytics event-data retention is managed in the connected Google Analytics property. Contact us for the current setting and for questions about analytics records.
Your choices and requests
Depending on the law that applies and the circumstances, you may be entitled to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of personal information. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
To make a request, email tomas@zhongweimetal.com and explain the information or enquiry concerned. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. We will explain any applicable limits, such as records we must retain for legal or contractual reasons.
You may also raise a concern with the data protection authority in your jurisdiction where applicable. Please contact us if you would like us to review a concern about our handling of your information.
Changes to this notice
We update this notice when our website features or information-handling arrangements change. The date above identifies the latest revision. New tracking tools or materially different uses of project information require this notice and the relevant choices to be reviewed.

Optional Microsoft Advertising measurement
After you accept optional measurement, this website loads Google Analytics and Microsoft Advertising Universal Event Tracking (UET). UET helps us measure visits from ads and successful website enquiry submissions. Email and WhatsApp link clicks are separate contact-click events; they do not establish that an enquiry was sent.
Microsoft may process page addresses, referring pages, advertising click identifiers, cookies, browser and device information and network information for advertising attribution. Our custom events do not send your form fields, message, enquiry reference, drawing names or file contents. We do not enable remarketing audiences or session recording as part of this installation.
Before you accept, neither measurement library is loaded. Your earlier Google Analytics-only choice is not treated as consent to Microsoft measurement. You can reject measurement or withdraw consent through Privacy choices in the footer and still use the website and enquiry form. The choice is stored for up to 180 days; Microsoft controls the duration of its own cookies. Withdrawal stops future measurement and clears accessible first-party measurement cookies; it does not erase data already received by providers.
